It’s Survival Of The Fittest For Retailers & Their Landlords
DOWNERS GROVE, IL-Brick-and-mortar retail is facing a fight for survival. There’s no news there. And their fortunes are tied in large part to the ability of their landlords to see over the next curling wave of technological change. That, at any rate, is how InvenTrust Properties SVP of leasing Lance W. Billingsley sees it, and he notes that, headlines proclaiming the death knell for traditional retail aside, there are real and present challenges that face stores and their landlords at this phase in retail’s evolution…»
The Amazon Effect May Not Be As Big As You Think

Of the sectors tracked by RCA, the apartment sector, which saw 27 percent more activity than office, was the “largest, most liquid” commercial group in Q1, RCA reports…»
U.S. Has Gap of Over 7.2 Million Affordable Rental Homes

Deputy editor Donna Kimura examines a new study from the National Low Income Housing Coalition (NLIHC), The Gap: A Shortage of Affordable Homes, which finds that for every 100 of the lowest-income renters, or those earning 30% of their area median income…»
